Density Explanation

So we’ve seen that:

  • Warm water floats on top of cold water, and
  • Fresh water floats on top of salt water.

These experiments all demonstrated that different kinds of water can have different densities.

 
In simple terms, density is a measurement of how much stuff you have in how much space.

 
In scientific terms, density is equal to the amount of mass in a particular volume.
