Plume Path

Does the plume always follow the same path?

Just like smoke plumes, the Hudson River plume can be effected by the wind. The plume’s path is dependant on wind speed and direction.

In the left image, you see the plume heading south along the coast of NJ. The image on the right was taken 3 days later. West winds blowing off the coast caused the plume to flow eastward.
